False Security

False security will result from a belief that God's rebuke must always feel good. God is faithful and that means we can count on Him keeping His words. God promises the consequences of Deuteronomy 28 for keeping and failing to keep His commands. The following witnesses have said the same thing.
For they sow the wind And they reap the whirlwind. The standing grain has no heads; It yields no grain. Should it yield, strangers would swallow it up. Hosea 8:7

Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap. Galatians 6:7

According to what I have seen, those who plow iniquity And those who sow trouble harvest it. Job 4:8

So they shall eat of the fruit of their own way And be satiated with their own devices. Proverbs 1:31
False security from platitudes like "mercy is not getting what we deserve" produces people who nullify God's words for the sake of their own wants and wills. The Pharisees did this and look what Jesus said to them on this subject. 
... "Why do you yourselves transgress the commandment of God for the sake of your tradition? 4 "For God said, 'HONOR YOUR FATHER AND MOTHER,' and, 'HE WHO SPEAKS EVIL OF FATHER OR MOTHER IS TO BE PUT TO DEATH.' 5 "But you say, 'Whoever says to his father or mother, "Whatever I have that would help you has been given to God," 6 he is not to honor his father or his mother.' And by this you invalidated the word of God for the sake of your tradition. 7 "You hypocrites, rightly did Isaiah prophesy of you: 8 'THIS PEOPLE HONORS ME WITH THEIR LIPS, BUT THEIR HEART IS FAR AWAY FROM ME. 9 'BUT IN VAIN DO THEY WORSHIP ME, TEACHING AS DOCTRINES THE PRECEPTS OF MEN.'" Matthew 15:3-9
The hour of great tribulation will come in order that we may pour out our own blood in strife against sin as a drink offering for Christ to drink anew in His Father's house. It is the foolish virgins who will not have enough oil in their lamps to be patient through the great darkness and delay prior to the Bridegroom's return because they have believed every wind of doctrine that has nullified the words of God. The foolish virgins will take offense at the delay and expect others to continue feeding them the word of God but they will be starved out by the wise virgins and thus shut out of the wedding banquet.
