Lord of the Lot

If you have spent any time in a church that bases its beliefs upon the Holy Bible, the chances are pretty high that you may have heard someone mock people who randomly flip through the Bible to find a verse as an answer to a specific prayer request. The faulty logic that usually supports their mockery is based upon the idea that such random approaches to answered prayer could land upon Matthew 27:5 where Judas hanged himself and Luke 10:37 where Jesus said to go and do likewise. However, God's words declare that God is the LORD OF THE LOT, Psalm 16:5. In fact, every decision made by casting lots is controlled by God and God alone. There is, therefore, no such thing as random chance. If God is the one that causes your Bible flipping to land upon verses like Matthew 27:5 and then Luke 10:37, perhaps it is because God is testing your resolve to put your understanding of your page-flipping to the test. In other words, are you willing to compare your page-flipping results to God'...

Brick Wall of Love

The spring of 2004 was a massive pivot point in my life. I drove two days in increasingly icy, snowy, and foggy conditions across unfamiliar terrain. My destination was the International House of Prayer in Kansas City, Missouri. Less than a week later a demon was cast out of me and I began seeing Jesus in multiple visions both awake and asleep. Being rather ignorant as I was at the time of the spiritual world, I assumed others were having the same types of experiences that I was. So, I did not feel the need to share any of these experiences with anyone. But, I am revamping this blog so I thought I would start from the beginning. There really isn't anything a person can do when God decides to show you a vision. It does not even matter if you like the vision or not. You don't get to pick and choose them. I don't even remember ever praying to see visions from God. They just started happening during a time when I thought those visions meant I was going crazy. In fact, I did...

Revelation 10 and the Download

Revelation 10  was the very first vision interpretation God gave me after I returned home from the 2004 Intro to IHOP internship. After all these years, I can still feel the invigorating living words touching my soul, but I would be an abomination if I expected you to take my words for all this. Instead, pray-read the Bible yourself and ask God if the green words are true. I did not feel like God told me these things. I was not thinking to myself stuff like, "what was it like for John when..." I wasn't even asking God for an explanation of this passage as I had already thought the passage was quite straight forward and needed no further clarity. But, God just broke into my being with a massive unexpected download of knowledge and I cannot ignore it. Let anyone with ears to hear really hear and be enlivened. Back story: The vision of Revelation 10  is preceded by God's judgment of three plaques of fire, smoke, and brimstone which kill a third of ma...

Spiritual Birds

Image
In Matthew 13, we are given the parable of the sower who sows seeds. Some fall along the road where birds came and ate the seed. Jesus gives the explanation of the birds as demons snatching God's words away from the heart in which God's words were sown. Now take a look at the interpretation of the baker's dream that Joseph gave in Genesis 40 . The bread which is made from seeds of grain is eaten by birds and Joseph says this is equal to the baker's death in three day's time. Why show you this? Because of what Jesus said here: He presented another parable to them, saying, "The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and sowed in his field; and this is smaller than all other seeds, but when it is full grown, it is larger than the garden plants and becomes a tree, so that THE BIRDS OF THE AIR come and NEST IN ITS BRANCHES." He spoke another parable to them, "The kingdom of heaven is like leaven, which a woman took and hid...

Dream Journal - Throwing out the trash

2/2/16 Dream Journal: Last night in RHOP during GBF, Harley put on one of Laura Hackett's worship with the word sets that ministered against fear. I cried out to the Lord that everyone hates me. The terror of their hatred paralyzed me. Later, I went to bed determined to return to the Lord even if it kills me. I awoke this morning with this dream. I had finally opened my house to invite guests to come and worship Jesus with me. A few came and began worshiping as my husband led them. Those that came said nothing regarding the filth of my home's interior. They simply began worshiping and allowing me to greet the later arrivals. The door bell rang. It was Katie and Judah. I invited them in. As they walked through the entry and past the dinning table, they remarked on the filth. I bodily threw them both out. That was when I was picked up by an invisible force to hang in mid air east of my front door as I watched what happened next. I saw Judah gaze toward...

Unity in the Spirit #6 - Thinking Like a Child

When little children are mistreated, they have no understanding to help them process the sin perpetrated against them. The result is thinking like a child and growing up having to put away childish things. When I was about seven or eight years of age I still believed in Santa Clause. I was so adamant that the tubby red suited dude existed that I got into an argument with my older sister and younger brother about it. My sister dragged me by the arm to my parent's bedroom where she opened the closet door to reveal all the wrapped gifts that year. I stood there so stunned. Tears began to roll down my cheek. My parents had actually lied to me. The same Mom, who not three years earlier yelled and yelled at me for lying had herself been lying to me all these years. My world was literally shattered that day as I told myself, "I cannot trust my parents." The pain of it so deep I drowned the pain with repression. I spent the rest of their lives refusing to believe...

Unity in the Spirit #5 - IN Christ

Recently I was asked, "So, what if a large group of Christian leaders told you, Diane, your beliefs were wrong. Would you submit and change what you believe?" My answer was, "It depends upon whether or not the large group of Christian leaders were in Christ." The God ordained position of "leader" as defined by American civil laws of corporations dictates the same authority described in this verse: Then Jesus spoke to the crowds and to His disciples,  saying: "The scribes and the Pharisees have seated themselves in the chair of Moses;   therefore all that they tell you, do and observe, but do not do according to their deeds; for they say things and do not do them. Matthew 23:1-3 (NASB) The problem this verse places on the shoulders of religious leaders is the loop hole Jesus gave us that reads "BUT DO NOT DO." When it comes to personal beliefs, religious leaders are not given any authority to dictate what to believe. In...
