Why One Paid for All
I exhort you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all agree and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be made complete in the same mind and in the same judgment. 1 Corinthians 1:10.
I do nothing on My own initiative, but I speak these things as the Father taught Me. John 8:28.
As of today, 30+ years after giving my life to Jesus, I no longer believe anyone exists who loves the word of God enough to control their tongues the way Jesus controlled His tongue. I cannot believe it anymore. The emotional and physical pain of watching it play out is too great. How do you think Jesus feels watching the following things play out and many others like these things?
- Jesus never said, "thank you" to any human. Yet, we humans think we are better than Jesus by adding such a tradition to our social customs. Apparently, humans think it is more loving than how Jesus spoke.
- Jesus never complimented anyone and actually commanded that we praise God only. But, we humans get all offended if others don't pump up our egos before saying something difficult to hear.
- Jesus gave us the greatest command to love God first and foremost. Now churches emphasize horizontal fellowship over worshiping the God who inhabits our praises. It wasn't like that when I was a child or new believer.
- The Holy Bible does not explicitly declare that Satan is the "Ruler of the World." Yet, people don't care that there are explicit Bible verses that demonstrate Jesus fulfilled every phrase God used to define His Ruler of the World. It just isn't what their Pastor taught them so they won't believe it.
- Even though Jesus taught us to pray, we like to pray our own way because other humans said it was ok. Human interpretations of God's words are more important than God's actual words.
For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles in one point, he has become guilty of all. James 2:10.
Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” Genesis 1:26.
For we all stumble in many ways. If anyone does not stumble in what he says, he is a perfect man, able to bridle the whole body as well. James 3:2.
You brood of vipers, how can you, being evil, speak what is good? For the mouth speaks out of that which fills the heart. Matthew 12:34.
Then the LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great on the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. Genesis 6:5.
The good man brings out of his good treasure what is good; and the evil man brings out of his evil treasure what is evil. Matthew 12:35.
I HAVE COME TO CAST FIRE UPON THE EARTH; AND HOW I WISH IT WERE ALREADY KINDLED! BUT I HAVE A BAPTISM TO UNDERGO, AND HOW DISTRESSED I AM UNTIL IT IS ACCOMPLISHED! Luke 12:49–50.
Lord, Jesus,
We were brought forth in iniquity, and in sin our mothers conceived us. Yet, You desire truth in our innermost beings. And in the hidden part, You will make us know wisdom. Purify us with hyssop, and we shall be clean. Wash us and we shall be whiter than snow. Make us hear joy and gladness. Let our bones which You have broken rejoice. Hide Your face from our sins and blot out all our iniquities.
Create in us a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within us. Do not cast us away from Your presence, and do not take Your Holy Spirit from us. Restore to us the joy of Your salvation, and sustain us with a willing spirit. Then, we will teach transgressors Your ways and sinners will be converted to You. Psalms 51:5–13.
