Man is the Ruler of the World
Genesis 1:26 is the verse in which God gave man the authority over the world. The words of God cannot be broken, John 10:35. Not even by man's unfaithfulness to keep God's words. Yet, many have heard that man gave authority over the world to Satan when Adam fell. For those of you who still think that Satan is the ruler of the world, please see the other article tagged *Ruler of the World."
If the Father gave all things to Jesus, John 3:35, 13:3, then Satan had no authority to give anything to Jesus had Jesus bowed down to worship Satan in the desert. Thus, man has always been the ruler of the world. This is why Jesus spoke Matthew 18:7 which reads:
"Woe to the world because of its stumbling blocks! For it is inevitable that stumbling blocks come; but woe to that man through whom the stumbling block comes!"
Man is the one who brings the evil into the world that causes misery, death and destruction because man is still the ruler of the world. As long as man continues to choose evil, evil will dwell upon the earth.
A man who sits at the right hand of God, Mark 16:19; Luke 22:69, is now ruling in mercy for those who are merciful, Matthew 5:7, and in wrath for those who love evil, Jeremiah 4:4; Ezekiel 9:9-10, 11:21.

Jesus was a man in partnership with God while dwelling on earth. Jesus commanded trees to die, waters to be still, and even the wild animals were with Him in the desert during His forty day fast. All of this was accomplished prior to His work on the cross to restore us back into right relationship with Himself. However, that is no excuse because 70 disciples, at least for a short time, did do those same types of things prior to the cross. The problem wasn't authority. The problem was fading glory preventing the world from seeing the sons of God.
